Case Studies
This downstairs bathroom refurbishment was designed by Junction 2 Interiors in collaboration with Padl and installed by Antony Marson.
Completed at the end of 2023 in a private home in Birmingham, UK, the project showcases advanced tiling techniques, especially in creating smooth, mitred tile edges.
The highlight is a custom-made sink built using Schluter KERDI products, designed to cleverly hide existing pipework and a water heater. Despite the small 3ft by 6ft workspace, careful planning and original thinking made the project a success.
The project involved laying floor tiles on a self-leveled base, installing seamless LEDs, and precise wall tiling with color-matched edges. The bespoke sink was thoroughly water-tested before tiling and features a concealed access panel for the pipework, secured by magnets. Both manual and powered tools were used to achieve the mitred tile edges, ensuring a seamless and consistent finish throughout.
This custom wet room project includes a fully enclosed steam and shower room, showcasing the technical installation of various Schluter products in a home setting.
The project is both visually appealing and highly functional, designed for long-lasting quality and durability. The client is thoroughly enjoying the installation.
The project features Schluter products like DITRA HEAT for underfloor heating, KERDI-200 and KERDI-COLL for waterproofing, and a KERDI LINE 1200 G3 linear drain with dual outlets and a separate waste pipe. Remote-controlled LIPROTEC LED lights were also installed.
To ensure the steam room was completely sealed, KERDI-200 and KERDI-COLL were used on the floor, walls, seating, and ceiling. These materials were also applied in the wet room area outside the steam room. Handcrafted seating and niches in the steam room were built on-site, tiled with resin grout, and featured mitred edges for a sleek, luxurious look.
